the preppy look
HY has an invitation to the annual GANT off-season sale around Pimlico tube station, with most garment costing each a decent 20 quid. Just a cursive glance at the catalogue, the style would remind me of what my cousin, Rodney, used to remark on the East side dress sense, 'the preppy look', them exuding an air of East coast confidence. Well, I think it's hard to pigeon-hole HY into a specific style, for he is neither totally clean-cut, nor a bit scruffy-looking; as long as a guy does not spend too much time caring about his clothing then that should be fine. GANT successfully created the illusion that everything is free by providing huge laundry bags at the entrance. Though to my dissappointment the women and home sale are on the weekend, after hunting through piles and piles of colourful designs for men, I have to admit that shopping for anything is fun full stop. I stuffed a few handsome jumpers, shirts and ties in the bag, to which HY sometimes exclaimed, 'That is so gay,' or 'That looks like a carpet'. After trying them on at the open space platform with other chubby/skinny men, it proves I have a fairly good taste. *wink*
